Visionary? You can look at it like that. The roads of this world lure us with countless curves and corners. At night in particular, it is vital to achieve optimum illumination of the roads. As a result, at the point where human visual acuity reaches its limits, Porsche is extending the field of vision thanks to intelligent technology. This means you reach your destination faster, or simply allows you to enjoy the driving experience. The Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) convert the main headlights of your Porsche into active assistants which do everything to ensure a relaxing and comfortable drive. After all, when it comes to controlling a vehicle, a visionary approach is sometimes characterised by the ability to see objects those decisive few tenths of a second earlier.
Dynamic cornering light
The dynamic cornering light swivels the main headlights into the bend, depending on the steering angle and vehicle speed. In Panamera and Cayenne models, the static cornering light additionally activates auxiliary headlights to illuminate tight corners or when turning.
Dynamic high beam
The dynamic high beam detects the lights of traffic traveling in front and of oncoming traffic. The intensity and range of the light beam are thus adapted to the relevant situation. This allows you to detect the course of the road, pedestrians or any dangers at an early stage without dazzling other road users.
Intersection light
The intersection light function detects intersections and junctions using the navigation data of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM). The system then switches on the left and right cornering lights simultaneously for optimized illumination at intersections. If there is one road joining the one you are driving on, only the static cornering light on the side facing the road mouth is activated. Porsche Car Connect is an app for your smartphone which offers a host of useful options for you and your Porsche. Porsche Car Connect includes Remote Services, Vehicle Tracking Services, and E-Performance Services. The Remote Services allow you to access vehicle information and control selected functions remotely. The Vehicle Tracking Services help you to protect your Porsche against theft and find it if the worst happens. Remote Services

Atlanta, Georgia. Porsche Cars North America has launched its New Vehicle Delivery program at the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) in Atlanta. The program enables customers to place a factory order for a new vehicle through any authorized Porsche dealer in the U.S. and take delivery directly from the experiential destination, located at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta. California forensic accountant and attorney Tracy Blumenthal was the first official customer to participate in the program today when she picked up her new Cayenne S E-Hybrid sport utility vehicle. "We are thrilled to launch the New Vehicle Delivery program as another premium offering at our Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta," said Andre Oosthuizen, Vice President, Marketing, for Porsche Cars North America. "We welcome further customers to follow the lead of Tracy Blumenthal and enjoy this exclusive opportunity to truly experience the Porsche brand." New Vehicle Delivery customers receive a total VIP experience, comprised of a tour of the PEC, an in-depth vehicle orientation with a delivery specialist, a 90-minute experience in a Porsche on the driver development track, and lunch at Restaurant 356, Porsche’s fine-dining destination. Because Blumenthal is the first customer taking part in the New Vehicle Delivery program, she also enjoyed a special demonstration lap in an 887-horsepower 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid supercar with former Porsche race car driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner David Donohue. "Porsche is a remarkable brand that I have repurchased multiple times, consecutively," Blumenthal expressed. "You truly can't understand the genius of these cars unless you have in fact had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one."
In addition to Blumenthal’s new Cayenne S E-Hybrid and the 918 Spyder, also on display for the launch were the two other Porsche hybrid vehicles – the Panamera S E-Hybrid and 919 Hybrid race car. The New Vehicle Delivery program marks the latest in a unique set of offerings at the Experience Center designed to immerse customers in the complete Porsche experience. Other PEC features include a 1.6-mile driver development track, conference and meeting facilities, a Classic Workshop for maintenance and repair of customer vehicles, the Porsche Heritage Gallery and the fine-dining Restaurant 356. Approximately 17,500 guests visited the PEC between June and December 2015. The New Vehicle Delivery program is available at no additional cost to all Porsche customers who place a factory order for a new Porsche vehicle. To register, customers coordinate with their local dealer and cover necessary travel arrangements. Reservations are limited and scheduled by appointment. Further information is available at any authorized U.S. Porsche dealer or online at www.porsche.com/usa. Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG can look back on an extremely successful fiscal year in 2015. With 225,121 vehicles delivered to customers worldwide, the company achieved a new record in 2015, exceeding the previous record of 189,849 cars in 2014 by 19 percent.
"The figures reflect the pulling power of our brand as well as the appeal of our products which we have launched on the market in the past few years," says Dr. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. "Focusing completely on the development, production, and sales of highly emotional sports cars is paying off." However, sales are only a secondary yardstick for success for Porsche. "What is much more important for us are customer enthusiasm, return on sales, and secure jobs," says Blume. The 911 legend continues unabated. The sports car icon recorded an increase over the previous year of four percent with just under 32,000 units delivered. "This growth, even in a year in which the model was changed, shows the immensity of fascination for the 911 on the markets," said Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. The new 911 series will be available in the United States in March of 2016 with the flagship 911 Turbo models available in April. Clearly, the growth drivers are the SUV models and the best-seller is the latest addition to the family. With more than 80,000 cars delivered globally, the Macan became the most coveted Porsche already in its first year of full availability. It is closely followed by the Cayenne (73,119 units). Compared with the previous year, the Macan and the Cayenne achieved two-digit growth figures. Cayman sales rose slightly by one percent. The Panamera and Boxster models lagged behind the previous year levels. The reason for this is the upcoming model change from which Porsche is expecting renewed growth in 2016. In the future, the Boxster and Cayman models will be branded as the 718 model series and will continue to advance both technically and optically. For the first time, the strongest single market in 2015 was China where Porsche delivered 58,009 vehicles. Compared with 2014, this was an increase of 24 percent. In the United States 51,756 vehicles were delivered, a growth of 10 percent. The European market grew by 24 percent to 75,354 units where Germany was the strongest single market with a total of 28,953 vehicles delivered (up 21 percent). Atlanta, Georgia. Porsche announces the new Macan GTS. With more power, a reengineered suspension, unique GTS-specific exterior and interior appointments, and new connectivity options, the new Macan GTS provides an enthusiastic driving experience that enhances the current Macan range.
Based on the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine in the Macan S, the Macan GTS incorporates hardware changes and a unique engine calibration to allow the engine to develop 360 hp at 6000 rpm and 369 lb.-ft. of torque between a broad 1650-4000 rpm. The rest of the all-wheel-drive powertrain matches up to the Macan Turbo; Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission is combined with Porsche's Traction Management system (PTM) that actuates an electro-hydraulic, multi-plate clutch to variably engage the front axle depending on traction needs. All told, this powertrain package accelerates the Macan GTS to 60 mph in as little as 4.8s in conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package and up to a top track speed of 159 mph.
Porsche's Stability Management system is also recalibrated for this application, and when combined with the Sport Chrono package, it provides an even more dynamic driving experience. Large 360 mm front rotors, with six-piston fixed calipers finished in red, and 330 mm rear rotors, with single-piston calipers also painted in red, provide the braking force needed for performance use and assist with torque vectoring, via Porsche's optional Torque Vectoring system (PTV).
Air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), comes standard on the Macan GTS. This combination provides adjustable ride height and damper stiffness. These parameters help optimally tune the car for virtually any driving condition. Macan GTS specific suspension tuning also includes a 10-millimeter reduction of standard ride height, compared to the Macan Turbo, further lowering the center of gravity.
The Macan GTS is characteristically recognized by the many black exterior accents. The window trim is finished in high gloss black, there is a matte finish on the lower body and the Porsche Macan GTS designation on the rear hatch, and the standard 20" RS Spyder Design wheels are finished in Satin Black. Side blades, located in the lower portion of the doors, are matte black with GTS logos in contrasting gloss black. The Macan GTS will be available with optional LED headlights that feature Porsche's unique four-point daytime running lights, as well as a cornering light function.
On the inside, the Macan GTS features a standard leather package and GTS sport seats with Alcantara® seat centers and GTS logos on the headrests. An optional GTS interior package, featuring a Carmine Red tachometer and deviated stitching, seat belts, and embroidered GTS logos on the headrests is also available. The standard PCM (Porsche Communication Management system) includes Sound Package Plus, eight speakers, a USB and aux-in interface, SiriusXM® and HD radio™, and Bluetooth® capability. An optional PCM with Navigation module includes a hard-drive based navigation system that supports 3D navigation display, satellite image overlays, and dynamic route calculation.
Two connectivity systems are optional: available for the standard PCM is Porsche Connect, which provides Apple CarPlay™ integration. Porsche Connect Plus is available for the PCM with Navigation system. Connect Plus expands on Connect by including a hot-spot capable LTE modem for connectivity. Passengers can surf the web, while the driver can access real-time traffic, and even transfer destinations and calendar appointments from a smartphone into the PCM.
The 2017 Macan GTS goes on sale in March 2016, with a base MSRP of $67,200 excluding a destination change. Not sure whether you should order the Sport Exhaust option for your next Porsche? Celebrating six decades of the largest Porsche club organization in the world, Porsche Cars North America is commemorating this milestone with a 60 unit limited-production run of the Club Coupe based on the 911 Carrera GTS. Known as the GTS Club Coupe, the 430 hp sports car is painted in a color unique to this model appropriately named “Club Blau,” which was created exclusively for this anniversary edition by the Porsche Club of America. “The Porsche Club of America is home to passionate ambassadors who have been fostering the appreciation and recognition of Porsche for 60 years,” said Andre Oosthuizen, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, as the car was unveiled today at Porsche’s new headquarters at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta. “We are proud and honored to celebrate this anniversary with a very special edition of Porsche's most storied sports car - the 911.” The GTS Club Coupe features the 44 mm wider body of the 911 Carrera 4 models with a rear wheel drive platform. SportDesign side mirrors, black framed Bi-Xenon™ headlights with Porsche’s Dynamic Light System, and taillights tinted in black are standard, while the doors are marked with black “Club Coupe” model designations, clearly distinguishing this unique 911. Painted in the newly created “Club Blau” color, the limited-edition model is also characterized by the SportDesign package, which is fitted as standard. A more pronounced front fascia as well as a “ducktail” rear spoiler gives the special car a striking, yet classic, appearance. 20-inch Sport Classic wheels painted in semi-gloss black with polished wheel centers and rim flanges are also standard on the GTS Club Coupe. The interior is highlighted by the GTS Interior Package. The stitching, seat belts, and rev counter are held in contrasting Carmine Red, while the dashboard trim strips, door trim and center console are finished in carbon fiber. The striking steering wheel has a Red 12 o’clock marker and two-tone stitching in Carmine Red and Blue. The center compartment lid is embossed with a “60” and the dashboard trim is personalized with “GTS Club Coupe 60 Years Porsche Club of America” lettering above the glove compartment. Stainless steel door sills which read “GTS Club Coupe” serve as a further distinction. An Extended Club Coupe Package is available as a unique option. It consists of a vehicle key painted in “Club Blau,” a leather key pouch and leather-edged floor mats, both with two-tone stitching in Carmine Red and Blue. An individual personalized indoor car cover is also available as an option. Powering the GTS Club Coupe is an enhanced version of the Carrera S engine, which is also found in the 911 Carrera GTS model variants. 430 hp propel the GTS Club Coupe from standstill to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds when equipped with the optional PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. The top track speed is 190 mph (189 mph on PDK-equipped models). A third center radiator ensures consistent performance in all conditions. A standard Sport Exhaust system with black chrome tips accentuates the Boxer engine note in particularly exhilarating fashion. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), incorporating adaptive dampers and a 10 mm lower ride, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), as well as the Sport Chrono Package with dynamic engine mounts, contributes to the car’s optimal handling characteristics. The GTS Club Coupe will be launched in the United States in June 2015. Porsche Club of America members will have the opportunity to purchase one of 59 vehicles and PCA members will also be eligible to win the initial display vehicle. Official details will be announced February 1st, 2015 on www.pca.org. The MSRP is $136,060, not including a destination charge of $995. Photos by Michael Alan Ross, Vu Nguyen, and courtesy Porsche All that matters is performance. In short: GTS. The genes of a race car packed into a 911. Power has been further increased, performance enhanced and the traction of the all-wheel-drive is nothing short of impressive.
All that matters is design. In short: Targa. A timeless icon with its stylish Targa bar, revolutionary roof concept and the driving feel of an open-top Porsche. Sportiness meets style. GTS meets Targa. With its design, this 911 belongs to the avant-garde. With its power, it leaves the avant-garde behind. A sports car for those who wouldn't be satisfied with anything less. With extra horsepower, a particularly exquisite specification and even greater performance. A sports car that has never before existed in this form. The new 911 Targa 4 GTS. The best way to experience something is up close. That’s why the Cayenne GTS brings you into closer contact with the road. For a more direct driving experience. And for a level of performance that’s usually only to be found on the racetrack.
The car is powered by an all-new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with direct fuel injection (DFI). The results: 440 hp at 6,000 rpm, that’s 20 hp more power than its predecessor with reduced displacement and a further significant decrease in fuel consumption. Maximum torque of 443 lb.-ft. is available between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm. The benchmark sprint from 0 to 60 mph is completed in 4.9 thrilling seconds. The 8-speed Tiptronic S ensures powerful acceleration, all the way up to a top track speed of 163 mph. The GTS concept certainly gets under your skin – and the aural experience is equally exhilarating: fitted as standard, the sport exhaust system delivers an even more distinctive sound. The fascinating appeal of Porsche is certainly something you can hear as well as feel. Efficiency is enhanced by technologies such as thermal management. After all, being a top athlete is all about being able to conserve energy – without compromising on performance. A sports car for those who wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less. For the unfiltered contact with the road, the pure sound, that feeling of anticipation. That’s all that matters. The new 911 Carrera GTS. A pure unadulterated 911. We’ve given it everything that typifies a sports car: a powerful front, a broad rear, sharpened design elements. And Carmine Red paintwork, available as an option for the 911 Carrera GTS models for the first time and which particularly emphasises the black elements of the exterior. With 30 hp more power than the 911 Carrera S, the 3.8-litre boxer engine in the new 911 Carrera GTS models teases out not only another tenth when accelerating, but greater performance overall. The engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus develops a full 430 hp at 7500 rpm, and achieves a maximum torque of 324.5 lb.-ft. Nm at 5750 rpm. With optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the 911 Carrera GTS takes a mere 3.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph, with a top speed of 189 mph. |
