Atlanta, Georgia. Porsche is responding to the growing demand for a built-in navigation device for vintage Porsche sports cars with its Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System. Following its successful market launch in Europe in February 2015, the Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System is now available in the USA and Canada. This purpose-built unit combines a style reminiscent of the original equipment radios in these cars with the benefits of modern digital technology. It fits perfectly into the DIN-1 slot used for decades in Porsche sports cars and is operated by means of two knobs, six discreetly integrated buttons, and a touch-sensitive 3.5-inch display. The new Classic Radio Navigation System also comes prewired with a lead for an optional SiriusXM® satellite radio tuner. With its black surface and two authentic styles of knobs (both supplied as standard), the Classic Radio Navigation System blends harmoniously into the dashboard of classic Porsche models. It bears the Porsche logotype and is suitable for sports car generations between the first 911 from the 1960s to the last air-cooled 911 (993 series, MY1998), as well as the 912, 914, 924, 928, 944, and 968 models. The Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System comes with key features of today’s systems. In addition to smartphone connection via Bluetooth, the unit has low-interference radio reception, precise navigation, two USB ports, and interfaces for a variety of external music sources, controllable from the display. In addition, the Classic radio has an internal microphone and an external microphone. The integrated amplifier delivers 4x45 watts and can be connected either directly to the loudspeakers or to the original sound system using an optional adapter cable. Exclusively developed and adapted for classic Porsche sports cars
The Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System has been exclusively developed for Porsche Classic sports cars. Radio reception, for instance, has been optimized for the built-in antenna supplied during original production (which is generally only a single telescoping rod). The device’s operating concept is based on Porsche Communication Management (PCM). It has undergone extensive testing at the Technical University in Munich to verify user friendliness, and numerous trial trips were made in the USA and Canada to test country-specific navigation. Drivers have a choice of arrows and two-dimensional or three-dimensional maps to display the route, and the maps are stored on a microSD card with eight gigabytes of memory. The new Classic Radio Navigation System is available immediately from authorized Porsche dealers. The Porsche Classic division of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG is responsible for supplying parts for vehicles generally produced more than ten years ago. Its services cover all aspects of technical literature as well as the supply and reproduction of original parts, and even extend to complete restoration. The company is expanding its international dealer and service network to around 100 Porsche Classic Partners for optimal support of classic cars. Customers can expect a wide range of Porsche Classic services from Porsche Classic Partners. Through this measure, Porsche has integrated the care of modern classic and vintage cars in an innovative service concept, closely linking Porsche tradition and Porsche innovation. Atlanta, Georgia. The New York International Auto Show will be host to three North American debuts for Porsche this year. The 911 R and the 718 Boxster both represent the latest interpretation of driving pleasure and dynamics in their respective segments. The 911 R is a pure, uncompromised driving machine with a naturally-aspirated, 500 horsepower engine mounted in the rear. The 718 Boxster features extensive chassis enhancements and an all-new turbocharged, mid-mounted flat-four cylinder engine. The 718 Boxster is powered by a 2.0 liter engine developing 300 horsepower, while the 718 Boxster S utilizes a 2.5 liter powerplant making 350 horsepower. The third debut, the Macan, is driven by a sporty and highly efficient turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-four cylinder engine. Four Macan Models Now Available Porsche is expanding its line-up of compact SUVs with a new variant of the Macan. Following the introduction of the Macan S, Macan Turbo, and most recently the Macan GTS models, the four-cylinder turbocharged engine in this model is tailored for use in the sports car of the SUV segment. As is characteristic for all Porsche models, the Macan is capable of converting its engine power into impressive driving dynamics using the standard active all-wheel drive with Porsche Traction Management PTM, as well as the agile suspension and precise steering. Air suspension with load-leveling control and the PASM system with adaptive dampers are optionally available. Weighing only 3,902 pounds, the Macan is the lightest SUV made by Porsche, which translates into particularly agile handling. Sporty turbocharged four-cylinder The new inline-four engine is designed to be sporty and efficient. It operates with up to 14 PSI of boost pressure, charge-air cooling, direct injection, and variable valve timing. VarioCam Plus adapts the intake and exhaust camshaft continually and also controls the lift of the exhaust valves. Thanks to 252 hp from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm and 273 pound-feet of torque available between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm, overtaking maneuvers are completed confidently. Like all other Macan models, the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine in the Macan is connected to a standard seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission featuring Auto Start Stop technology. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is completed in 6.1 sec with the optional Sport Chrono Package featuring Launch Control. Top track speed is 142 mph. In terms of fuel consumption, the new Macan proves to be particularly efficient with an estimated improvement of up to 18 percent compared to the Macan S. Fuel economy values from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are 25 miles per gallon on the highway, 20 mpg in the city, and 22 mpg combined. Extensive level of standard equipment Visually and in terms in of equipment, there is little that separates the new Macan from the rest of the family. Distinguishing exterior characteristics are matte black window surrounds and brake calipers in black, while the unique dual exhaust pipes are finished in stainless steel. The front fascia and lava black side blades match the Macan S. The Macan comes standard with Bi-Xenon™ headlights, 8-way power front seats, seat centers in Alcantara®, the newest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Piano Black interior package, and a lane departure warning system.

Limited edition 911 variant with 500 hp naturally aspirated engine and manual transmission Atlanta, Georgia. Celebrating its world debut at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, the new 2016 Porsche 911 R follows the tradition set by the first road-homologated race car bearing the name in 1967. Produced as part of a limited production series, the original 911 R (R for Racing) was entered in rallies, in the Targa Florio and in world record runs. Like its legendary predecessor, the new 911 R features a systematic lightweight construction, a high level of performance and an unfiltered driving experience. The 911 R is limited to 991 units worldwide, and represents the lightest available version of the 911 with a curb weight of just 3021 pounds. Powered by a 500 hp four-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the 911 R underscores Porsche’s commitment to building emotional and engaging high-performance sports cars with a maximum amount of driving pleasure. Developed by Porsche’s motorsport department, the 911 R is the third model to use Porsche’s latest generation of high-performance naturally aspirated flat-six engines alongside the track-bred 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS models. Powering the 911 R is the four-liter flat-six familiar from the 911 GT3 RS. The race-bred powertrain delivers 500 hp at 8,250 rpm and generates 338 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,250 rpm. The 911 R can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reach a top track speed of 200 miles per hour. True to its purist character, the lightweight model is available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission featuring short, performance oriented gear ratios. The quick and crisp shifting further underscores the high level of driving engagement. A thoroughbred driving machine utilizing track-bred technology The 911 R was designed with corners in mind. The specially tuned standard rear-axle steering offers direct turn-in response and precise handling while maintaining a high level of stability. The mechanical rear differential lock ensures a maximum amount of traction, while the standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system with 16.1 inch front and 15.4 inch rear rotors offers ultimate braking performance. Ultra-High Performance Tires measuring 245 millimeters at the front and 305 millimeters at the rear generate significant levels of grip. They are mounted on forged, lightweight 20-inch wheels with a matte aluminum finish and center locking hubs. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) has been specifically calibrated for the 911 R by Porsche’s motorsport department. A rev-match function, which can be activated at the touch of a button, is a standard feature, while a single-mass flywheel is available as an option, sharpening the responsiveness of the engine even further. A front-axle lift system can also be optionally equipped to maximize everyday practicality: it can increase the ground clearance of the front axle by approximately 1.2 inches at the touch of a button. Weighing just 3021 pounds, the 911 R is 110 pounds lighter than the 911 GT3 RS. The front luggage compartment lid and the front fenders are made of carbon fiber, while the roof is made of magnesium, lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity. Reduced interior insulation and the omission of rear seats also help to reduce weight. The 911 R comes standard without an air conditioning or audio system. They can be ordered at no extra charge. More than meets the eye: classic 911 look with GT racing technology The 911 R retains a sleek, classic look. At first glance, the body resembles that of the 911 Carrera. Only the front fascia and rear body familiar from the 911 GT3 hint at the birthplace of the 911 R: Porsche’s motorsport department in Flacht. Under the skin, the 911 R has much to show: the engine comes from the 911 GT3 RS. All the lightweight components of the body and the complete chassis have been adopted from the 911 GT3. Road use being the priority, the 911 R does without the fixed rear wing characteristic of the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS models. Instead, an automatically deployed rear spoiler, familiar from the 911 Carrera models, and a rear underbody diffuser specific to the 911 R provide the necessary downforce. Front and rear fascia components are taken from the 911 GT3. The Sport Exhaust System is made of lightweight titanium, as is the case for the 911 GT3 RS. A redesigned spoiler lip is installed at the front. Optional Porsche logos on the side of the vehicle and color stripes in red or green running over the center of the car display the connection to its legendary predecessor. The 911 R is equipped with full bucket seats with carbon fiber backrests and seat centers upholstered in houndstooth design, paying homage to the original 911 of the 1960s. A “911 R-specific” GT Sport steering wheel measuring 14.1 inches in diameter awaits the driver’s commands. Gearshifts can be carried out via a shortened, R-specific gear lever. Carbon fiber interior trim strips with an embedded aluminum badge on the passenger side indicate the limited production number of the 911 R. A feature typical of GT vehicles, the conventional handles are replaced with door opening loops.
Vehicle launch and prices The 2016 Porsche 911 R can be ordered now. In the United States, it will be reach dealers late this summer. The starting MSRP is $184,900, excluding the $1,050 destination charge. ATLANTA. Mobile phones and smartphones can now be connected via Wi-Fi. Also new is the option of connecting an iPhone® to the PCM to utilize Apple CarPlay™. Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG can look back on an extremely successful fiscal year in 2015. With 225,121 vehicles delivered to customers worldwide, the company achieved a new record in 2015, exceeding the previous record of 189,849 cars in 2014 by 19 percent.
"The figures reflect the pulling power of our brand as well as the appeal of our products which we have launched on the market in the past few years," says Dr. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. "Focusing completely on the development, production, and sales of highly emotional sports cars is paying off." However, sales are only a secondary yardstick for success for Porsche. "What is much more important for us are customer enthusiasm, return on sales, and secure jobs," says Blume. The 911 legend continues unabated. The sports car icon recorded an increase over the previous year of four percent with just under 32,000 units delivered. "This growth, even in a year in which the model was changed, shows the immensity of fascination for the 911 on the markets," said Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. The new 911 series will be available in the United States in March of 2016 with the flagship 911 Turbo models available in April. Clearly, the growth drivers are the SUV models and the best-seller is the latest addition to the family. With more than 80,000 cars delivered globally, the Macan became the most coveted Porsche already in its first year of full availability. It is closely followed by the Cayenne (73,119 units). Compared with the previous year, the Macan and the Cayenne achieved two-digit growth figures. Cayman sales rose slightly by one percent. The Panamera and Boxster models lagged behind the previous year levels. The reason for this is the upcoming model change from which Porsche is expecting renewed growth in 2016. In the future, the Boxster and Cayman models will be branded as the 718 model series and will continue to advance both technically and optically. For the first time, the strongest single market in 2015 was China where Porsche delivered 58,009 vehicles. Compared with 2014, this was an increase of 24 percent. In the United States 51,756 vehicles were delivered, a growth of 10 percent. The European market grew by 24 percent to 75,354 units where Germany was the strongest single market with a total of 28,953 vehicles delivered (up 21 percent).
At the start of 2016 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Porsche is presenting another highlight of its product range.
The top models of the 911 model series – the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S – now boast 15 kW (20 hp, 911 Turbo: Combined fuel consumption 9.1 l/100 km, CO2emissions 212 g/km, 911 Turbo Cabriolet: Combined fuel consumption 9.3 l/100 km, CO2 emissions 216 g/km) more power, a sharpened design and improved features. The models will be available in both coupe and convertible versions from the start. The bi-turbo six-cylinder engine in the 911 Turbo with 3.8 litres of displacement now has a power output of 397 kW (540 hp). This power gain was achieved by modified inlet ports in the cylinder head, new injection nozzles and higher fuel pressure. The 911 Turbo S now develops 427 kW (580 hp) thanks to new turbochargers with larger compressors. Porsche is still the only manufacturer to utilise turbochargers with variable turbine geometry in petrol engines.
The engines now also have what is known as a dynamic boost function to further improve engine response in dynamic operation. It maintains the charge pressure during load changes – i.e. when the accelerator pedal is released briefly. This is achieved by just interrupting fuel injection, whereas the throttle valve remains open. As a result, the engine reacts with practically no delay to another press of the accelerator pedal. The effects of this function are more pronounced in the Sport and Sport Plus modes than in Normal mode. Overall, the new high-performance sports cars attain breathtaking driving performance, while fuel consumption is reduced even further. The 911 Turbo S Coupé sprints to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Its top speed of 330 km/h is twelve km/h higher than before. The 911 Turbo reaches the 100-km/h mark in 3.0 seconds, and its top speed is 320 km/h – five km/h faster than the previous model. Nevertheless, the coupes only consume 9.1 l/100 km, and the convertibles 9.3 l/100 km. This represents 0.6 litres less fuel per 100 km for all versions. The reason for this is further advanced electronic engine and transmission management with revised gear change mappings. A standard feature: Sport Chrono Package The new GT sport steering wheel – 360 mm in diameter and with a design adopted from the 918 Spyder – comes with what is known as a mode switch as standard. It consists of a rotary ring with stepped positions that is used to select one of the four modes Normal, Sport, Sport Plus or Individual. The Individual setting lets the driver configure and store a very individual vehicle setup. Another new feature of the Sport Chrono Package is the Sport Response button at the centre of the mode switch. Inspired by motor racing, it preconditions the engine and gearbox for the best possible responsiveness at the push of a button. In this state, the vehicle can produce optimal acceleration for up to 20 seconds, such as for an overtaking manoeuvre. An indicator in the instrument cluster in the form of a running timer shows the driver the elapsed time. Sport Response functionality can be called up as often as desired and from any of the driving modes. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) in the 911 Turbo models now has a new PSM Sport Mode. A brief press of the PSM button on the centre console puts the system in a very sporty mode – which is independent of the driving programme that is selected. The separately switched PSM Sport mode alters the PSM’s intervention threshold much more than was the case in Sport Plus mode of the previous model. The new mode makes it possible to approach performance limits even more closely – e.g. on a circuit racetrack. In this mode, the PSM warning lamp lights up, and a message in the instrument cluster indicates that the PSM system's contribution toward driving stability is limited. However, PSM still remains active in background, even in the PSM Sport mode. A long press of the PSM button, though, completely deactivates PSM, as usual. The chassis of the new 911 Turbo models with PASM as standard now offers an even greater spread between performance and comfort. In addition, the 911 Turbo S offers a full complement of equipment for driving dynamics: PDCC roll compensation is standard as is the PCCB ceramic brake system. New options for all 911 Turbo models include the radar-based lane change assist and a lift system for the front axle that can be used to increase ground clearance by 40 mm at the front spoiler lip at low speeds. Sharpened design with new characteristics Naturally, the new generation 911 Turbo adopts significant characteristics of the striking design of today’s Carrera models, supplemented by typical 911 Turbo special features. The newly formed front end with side airblades and precisely laid out narrow LED front lights with double fillets give the front end a wider look in combination with the additional fin in the central air intake. In a side view, the high-performance sports car boasts new 20-inch wheels. On the 911 Turbo S, for instance, the centre lock wheels now feature seven instead of ten double spokes. Also new are the wheel dimensions for the 911 Turbo: with 9 J x 20 at the front and 11.5 J x 20 at the rear, the new wheels are now each half an inch wider. They are now the same size as the wheels of the 911 Turbo S. The new door handles now come without plastic shell inserts – just like on the Carrera models. The rear body was also thoroughly reworked. Eye-catching at first glance are the three-dimensional rear lights with their four-point brake lights and aura-like illumination, familiar from the 911 Carrera series. The exit openings for the exhaust system at the rear as well as the dual tailpipes were redesigned. The rear lid grille was also redesigned, and it now features three parts: the right and left sections have longitudinal louvres, and in the middle there is a separate cover for optimised air induction for the engine. New Porsche Communication Management with online navigation Along with the generation change in models, the newly developed infotainment system, PCM with online navigation, is making its way into the cockpits of the 911 Turbo models as standard. This system can be made out by a multi-touch monitor with high-quality glass surface, which is perfectly integrated into the centre console, and it offers numerous new and extended connectivity functions thanks to the standard Connect Plus module. Navigation can also access the latest traffic information in real time. Routes and places can be visualised with 360-degree images and satellite images. In addition, the system can now process handwritten inputs. Moreover, mobile phones and smartphones can now be integrated more quickly, easily and comprehensively than before via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cable. Select vehicle functions can now be controlled remotely as well. As in the previous models, the Bose sound system is offered as standard; a Burmester system can be delivered as an option. Atlanta, Georgia. With the new 2017 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Targa 4 models, the traction advantage courtesy of an enhanced all-wheel drive system is paired with innovative turbocharged engines that are more powerful and consume less fuel than their predecessors. The standard adaptive PASM chassis (Porsche Active Suspension Management) with its ten-millimeter reduced ride height provides an even greater bridge between agile handling and sophisticated ride comfort. Rear-axle steering is available as an option for the Carrera 4S models and enhances the car's agility even further. The standard Porsche Communication (PCM) connectivity and infotainment system with a multi-touch display offers simplified usability. The all-wheel drive models feature the numerous optical refinements of the new 911 Carrera models, including headlights with four-point daytime running lights, door handles without recess covers, a redesigned rear decklid with vertical louvers, and new rear lights with characteristic four-point brake lights. Additionally, the Carrera 4 and Targa 4 variants are distinguished by a light strip between the rear lights which is now particularly distinctive thanks to its three-dimensional design. When illuminated, it reinforces the impression of depth. The light strip also underlines the wider body of the all-wheel drive 911, with the rear width increased by 44 millimeters over the two-wheel drive models. The refined look of the new 911 range also underlines the sophisticated elegance of the Targa. With its individual design, the new 911 Targa continues to stand out from the Coupé and Cabriolet. It combines the classic Targa design with an advanced roof in spectacular fashion. Like the legendary original Targa, it has the characteristic Targa bar in place of B pillars, a retractable roof section over the front seats, and a wrap-around rear window without C pillars. The roof segment can be opened and closed at the push of a button, with the soft top being stowed behind the rear seats as it opens. Faster acceleration, reduced fuel consumption More than four decades of experience with turbocharged Porsche engines used in motor racing and on production sports cars went into the development of the new flat six engines. The result: a new three-liter, flat six twin-turbo engine that sets new standards in performance, driving pleasure, and efficiency, while offering a 20 hp increase compared to the previous engine generation. Thanks to twin-turbo technology, the three-liter, six cylinder engines in the 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Targa 4 develop 370 hp and 331 lb.-ft. of torque. Using turbochargers with modified compressor wheels, a model-specific exhaust system, and different tune for the engine management system, the 4S models deliver 420 hp and 368 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines offer significantly greater torque than their predecessors, which is available across a broad power band from 1700 to 5000 rpm. Thanks to the new electro-hydraulically controlled all-wheel drive, the 911 Carrera 4 accelerates even better than its comparable two-wheel drive counterpart for the first time. Equipped with PDK and Sport Chrono package, the 911 Carrera 4 sprints from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds (0.3 seconds quicker than the previous model), with the S model taking 3.6 seconds (0.3 seconds less). Targa and Cabriolet models need just 0.2 seconds longer. Top track speeds range from 178 to 189 miles per hour, depending on the transmission and model variant. All 911 Carrera 4 and Targa 4 models come with a seven-speed manual transmission as standard. Traditionally, every new generation of engines from Porsche combines more output with less consumption. The new all-wheel drive 911 models are up to 12 percent more efficient than their respective predecessors, according to the New European Driving Cycle. EPA figures will be available at a later date. Adopted from the 918 Spyder: Sport Chrono package with mode switch In conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package, the new 911 models now have a mode switch on the steering wheel for the first time, which has been derived from the hybrid map switch in the 918 Spyder super sports car. The mode switch consists of a rotary dial with four positions for the driving modes "Normal", "Sport", "Sport Plus," and "Individual". Depending on the optional equipment installed in the car, the "Individual" setting lets drivers configure their own individual vehicle setup for the PASM, PDK shifting strategy, and Sport Exhaust system. In conjunction with the PDK transmission, the mode switch has an additional feature, the "Sport Response Button." When this button is pressed, the drivetrain is pre-conditioned for maximum acceleration for up to 20 seconds. Re-engineered PASM chassis, enhanced electro-hydraulically controlled all-wheel drive A Porsche 911 with all-wheel drive combines exceptional traction with particularly sporty handling and driving performance. In this new generation, the electro-hydraulically controlled all-wheel drive adopted from the 911 Turbo responds even more quickly and sensitively. This particularly helps aid driver control during sporty driving while maintaining agility. The PASM sport suspension, which lowers the ride height by 10 millimeters compared to the previous model, is fitted as standard to all Carrera models and aids stability during cornering. The new shock absorber generation offers enhanced ride comfort through an even more refined responsiveness, but also reduces body roll during hard cornering. Rear axle steering is available as an option for the Carrera 4S coupe, Carrera 4S cabriolet, and Targa 4S, adopted from the current 911 Turbo and 911 GT3. It increases the turn-in agility of the 911 and aids driver control during lane changes. At the same time, it ensures greater maneuverability in city traffic thanks to a 1.6 foot reduction of the turning radius. The improved handling is transmitted to the driver via the new steering wheel generation with a design based on that found in the 918 Spyder. The standard steering wheel has a diameter of 375 millimeters; the optional GT Sport steering wheel measures 360 millimeters. For enhanced everyday practicality, Porsche offers an optional electro-hydraulic lift system with lifting cylinders that are integrated into the front axle struts. Ground clearance at the front spoiler lip can be increased by 40 millimeters within five seconds at the touch of a button. This is particularly useful when encountering speed bumps or steep driveways. Connectivity and infotainment system: PCM with multi-touch display and new functions
The completely new PCM connectivity and infotainment system is standard and integrates new functions around the multi-touch display in the center console that now has a seven-inch format. Also fitted as standard, the navigation system can be operated much more like a smartphone and can also process handwritten input. Drivers can access real-time traffic information with a free one-year subscription. In addition, compatible mobile phones and smartphones can now be integrated more quickly, easily, and extensively than before via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cable. Vehicle-related services such as remote retrieval of vehicle data and Internet-based services such as Google® StreetView and Internet radio are also included in a free one-year subscription. The new 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Targa 4 range will be available in the U.S. beginning in April 2016. Atlanta. Inspired by the heritage of the Porsche 911, British artist Gerry Judah has created a sculpture which is now located on the Porscheplatz in Zuffenhausen, Germany, where the first 911 rolled off the assembly line in 1963. The sculpture consists of three pillars measuring up to 78 feet in height, each crowned with a Porsche 911 mounted at the top. The vehicles hail from different 911 generations paying tribute to the icon's vast history.
The event held on the evening of August 31, 2015 marked the official presentation of the sculpture entitled "Inspiration 911". The Porscheplatz was cast in a combination of lights, film, and vehicle choreography. Using the glass facade of the Porsche Museum as a screen, film clips were projected to create a visual display area measuring more than 2,100 square feet. A moving progression included vehicles that are also components of the art piece: an F-model from 1970, a G-model from 1981, as well as the latest generation 911.
